Hi! My name is Sandia Pantano of Sandia Pantano Imaging and Photography, LL. My specialty is Newborn photography and one of my most popular packages is The Petite Newborn package and I will tell you why!

Are you in the midst of your pregnancy or just delivered your little bundle of cuteness and thought, "oh I'd love to have special photos of this stage when they are so new and little". Well then in comes Newborn photographers! As one myself, I have many years of experience and training and understand the priorty of safety and handling your most precious newbie while creating and curating the most special setups and art focusing on your new little piece of your heart!

Petite newborn sessions basically like Mini sessions for your newborn. Concentrating and capturing your newborn. In my Petite newborn packages, they offer a couple setups changes and my studio, which is in Reston, Virginia, hold tons of props, swaddles, accesories and outfits and back/floor drops to choose from your session!

This part of curating and creating your setups for your session is really fun and some parents let me have full control and reigns on this part so it really allows my creativity to come out! They are about an hour, however, I don't really have time limits, I take into account, diaper changes, feedings, consoling etc. I make sure to get what I need to ensure beautiful outcomes so there will be no feelings of being rushed! I also do add ons for family members to join, because while the petite newborn sessions are mainly for the newborns, sometimes the parents or the siblings would like to get in a few shots and capture a few with the baby which are always welcomed to!

My studio in on the second floor of a quiet building and when you bring your baby in I basically take it from there, moms and dads are usually sleep deprived and tired and in a fog and I have had clients fall asleep or rest and lounge on the couch due to the warm environment which usually will have soft background noises of my baby shusher and baby music playing.

These sessions are booked months in advance to ensure there's a slot on my calendar since I offer a few newborn slots each month. You are probably wondering, how it works cause nobody can know for certain when baby will actually arrive, and that is true, they come on their own time! So how I do it is, upon booking with me, I will input your due date on my calendar, I will then tell you or your spouse/partner to contact me once baby arrived safely and baby and mom are good. Usually within 72 hours of delivery is good. We then set up the date for your newborn session. Newborn sessions are most ideal before they are 16 days old and the reason for that is before this amount of time, they are still quite sleepy and dose off more easily, usually the later time goes on they are more awake and alert. They are alaso more modable and poseable, allowing for all those cute newborn poses you see! Baby acne usually occurs at about 3 weeks old making baby uncomfortable and editing especially hard for these sessions.

The second part of these sessions after the photographing is where my other creative process comes in. My editing process is light /medium editing on skin, lighting, and a few creative touches of setups/ lighting/props etc. The turnaround time is about two weeks.
